What is the experience on playing these games?

The games that I played where very difficult and challenging. A lot of them are very similar to games that are available on phones such as flappy birds. Along with this there are games that are on consoles such as the wrestling games, and golf games. These are similar concepts that are very simple but effective.

How do these compare to games you are used to playing now?

They are a lot more complicated than games I play at the moment as along with this the graphics are not as good, which is expensive.

My Gaming History

This shows me that I have owned/own a lot of different devices. When I was a child I was really in Nintendo devices as I have owned the gameboy, DS, and 3DS. As I have been growing up I have matured more with devices like the PSP, XBOX 360, and XBOX One.

Bartles Taxonomy

Bartles Taxonomy is about the 4 different types of gamers. They are achievers, explores, socialisers, and killers. The achievers want to get all the achievements within the game. The explores want to find new parts of the game and find new smart ways to solve problems. The socialisers want to socialise with other people within side the game. Finally the killers want to dominate the game and everyone that plays it.

I think I'm a socialiser because I play a lot of games with friends.
I would agree with the results I got given after taking the test, this is because I feel that I like to dominate the game but also socialise within it.

Jespe, Juul, Half Rule (2005)

Rule-based system

A set of rules in order to play a game. If there are no rules it's called a free play game. An exmple of this would be the game 'it', where the rule is when you get caught you are 'it' until there is only one person is left and they are deemed the winner.

Variable and quantifiable outcomes

There are many different outcomes to games over a broad way. We count the outcome so we can identify what the outcome is. This is dependant on how you play the game. An example of this in the game FIFA, where if you win the outcome would be good if you win or if you lose it could be bad.

Different outcomes are assigned different values

This differentiates the outcome, such as win lose or draw. This is most shown in the football, where if you win you get 3 points,  if you draw you get 1 point, and if you lose you get 0 points.

Outcomes influenced by player effort

The player knows how the game work and how seriously you play the game. Slot machines is an example of this as they know how the machines work.

Emotional attachment to the outcome

This is how connected the player is to the game. An sports that people care about you can see the emotion on there face.

Consequences of the activity are negotiable

What you are playing for such as a reward. The reward could be different every time you play. A game like rock, paper, scissors is a good example of this.

'The Last of Us' gameplay

In the beginning of the game I felt that the gameplay was a bit slow and the emotion wasn't there, because the reaction to the outbreak of the virus was minimal. However, as the game went on the emotion grew, especially when The man daughter gets shot by the solider.
